![]() Modern USB drivers are non-existent for Windows XP, so in order to use a keyboard it needs to be plugged in with PS/2. You pretty much need to be using a board with a PS/2 keyboard and mouse. There are ways to do it with a USB drive, but they're pretty much universally more difficult than doing it with a DVD drive. Getting a DVD/CD drive, burning the Windows XP ISO (there are tons of different ISO burning utilities out there), and installing it that way is your best bet. You're probably better off heading to a more XOC oriented forum like HWBot if you want to get more into the specifics, they're the only folks who regularly want to run XP on modern hardware outside of just a VM (benchmarks like SuperPi 32M just work better on Windows XP) but the main things you'll need to be aware of are these. ![]() Yes installing XP on modern hardware is possible (see SuperPi 32M world record runs, most of them are done on Windows XP even with a 12900K/12900KS), it's just a real pain to get working.
